SMS Text Messaging Terms of Service

By providing your consent, you are opting-in and agreeing to the following terms of service:

  1. You consent to receive text messages from our automated dialing system. These text message campaigns may contain account notification messages, loan payment reminders, direct lending campaigns, general financial service marketing, and other general alerts like branch closures, weather closures, and holiday hours. You own or are authorized to provide the telephone number that you used to opt-in. Your consent to receive these automated text messages is not a condition to receiving any Heritage South Community Credit Union (HSCCU) product or service.
  2. You agree HSCCU may use an electronic record to document your consent. To withdraw consent, request a free paper or email copy of the opt-in, or to update our records with your contact information, please call (931) 680-1400. To view and retain an electronic copy of these Terms of Service or the rest of your opt-in, you will need (i) a device (such as a computer or cell phone) with internet access, and (ii) either a printer or storage space on such device. For an email copy, you will also need an email account you can access from the device, along with a browser or other software that can display the emails. These Terms of Service still will apply if you withdraw the consent mentioned above or opt-out of the HSCCU text message service.
  3. You may revoke your consent to receive automated text messages at any time by sending a return text with “STOP”. Your opt-out request may generate either a confirmation text or a texted request to clarify the HSCCU text message service to which it applies (if you have consented to more than one service). To complete your opt-out, please provide the requested clarification. For all further help, support or information send a return text with “HELP” or visit our website at https://www.heritagesouth.org. Carriers are not liable for delays or undelivered messages.
  4. HSCCU charges no fee for text message services, but your cellular carrier’s message and data rates may apply.
  5. Messaging frequency may vary.  Frequency depends on message service(s) to which you have consented and the manner in which you conduct account activities. 
  6. Text messages to HSCCU phone numbers are not encrypted. Do not send sensitive or nonpublic personal information to HSCCU in a text message. No representative of HSCCU will ever ask you to do this. If you receive a text message purported to be from HSCCU that requests you send a text with sensitive or nonpublic personal information, please do not respond to it. Instead, contact HSCCU immediately by telephone at (931) 680-1400.
  7. HSCCU or its third-party vendors may send you text messages containing HTTPS links to request information about your account transactions. These links will open a trusted HSCCU vendor website in your phone's mobile browser. Always verify that the link is legitimate before you open any link to a website. Look for spelling/grammatical errors in the text messages and verify the nature of the transaction referenced. Ensure the link directs to a legitimate, secure HSCCU vendor website with HTTPS in the URL. If you did not conduct a transaction that would generate a text message or have any questions regarding a text message you receive, please contact HSCCU immediately by telephone at (931) 680-1400.
  8. HSCCU makes no warranty regarding availability or reliability of text message services, and HSCCU shall have no liability related to any delay or failure in the delivery or receipt of text messages.
  9. HSCCU may change these Terms of Service at any time, and such updated Terms of Service shall be effective when posted to HSCCU website. You agree to review the Terms of Service regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes. Your continued use of an HSCCU text message service after the Terms of Service have changed shall constitute your acceptance of the new Terms of Service.
  10. HSCCU may cancel your free subscription to any or all HSCCU text message services or terminate any or all HSCCU text message services at any time without notice to you.
  11. The terms of other agreements with HSCCU may also apply to your use of any HSCCU text message service. At a minimum, the terms of the HSCCU Membership and Account Agreement apply to your use of HSCCU text message services.
  12. You agree that any action, dispute, claim, or controversy of any nature between you and HSCCU arising from or related to text message service described herein will be governed by the terms contained in the current Heritage South Community Credit Union Membership and Account Agreement.
