It claims an "EXPRESS XFER" is now processing and includes a link to cancel the transfer. THIS TEXT IS A SCAM. Heritage South will never send you a link to cancel a transfer. Beware of any link you receive via text, and never click on it. Never enter your login information on a website you visit via text message links; only log in to our app or directly on our website, www.heritagesouth.org.

Please contact us if you receive a message and are unsure if it is legitimate. On a weekend or federal holiday, check your account via our mobile app or online banking to see if a transfer or charge is pending. Original Alert:

A phishing text scam is circulating in our area. This scam text claims to be a "FREE MSG Heritage South Community Credit Union Fraud Detection." The text lists a bogus transaction and asks you to "REPLY YES OR NO." If you reply to the message, you will receive a follow-up message saying, "REPRESENTATIVE WILL BE REACHING OUT SHORTLY TO FURTHER ASSIST!"

Please know this message is a scam and is not from Heritage South. If a scammer calls you after you reply, they will tell you they already have your private information. They then send you a link to "sign in" with your online banking username and password and ask for the one-time text message code you receive when you log in. Heritage South employees will NEVER ask you for your login information! This is a sure sign of a scam.

Please call us directly if you receive a text message that seems suspicious, uses all caps, has poor grammar, or contains suspicious links. We can verify if the message is legitimate and if your account has a problem. If you provided your personal information to a caller, please contact us immediately at 931-680-1400.
